For the first time in Switzerland, an exhibition of Akimitsu Takagi‘s photographs will be on show at the Never Stop Reading bookshop in Zürich in March.

Come along to the opening on 5 March and stay until 29 March to see the silver prints that capture a unique insight into the world of tattooing in Tokyo in the 1950s, captured by one of the greatest Japanese crime writers of the 20th century.

On 5 March from 7pm, a round-table discussion on Japanese tattooing will bring together Pascal Bagot, Raphael Buehlmann and Sandro Plantera. It’s free and you’re warmly invited.

On 14 March, Zurich-based tattoo artist Raphael Buehlmann from the Kazoku Sanzan studio, who trained in several Asian cities and specialises in the Japanese style, will be demonstrating his tattooing technique in the bookshop.
